Masahiro Maruyama eyewear at Paris Optical

All MASAHIROMARUYAMA frames are manufactured in Fukui prefecture, Japan. The Sabae City factory where production occurs has deep roots in eyewear craftsmanship spanning over a century. Skilled artisans bring asymmetrical designs to life through methods that surpass computerized alternatives.

Titanium frames undergo multiple stages: mold creation, pressing, brazing, polishing, and surface finishing before assembly. The material’s lightweight nature combined with strength demands advanced processing techniques. Plastic frames utilize Mazzucchelli’s acetate, hand-filled by craftsmen to ensure comfortable fit and gradual thickness transitions in asymmetric designs, followed by buffing and polishing.

What makes MASAHIROMARUYAMA glasses so special?

  1. Unfinished Art is Cool. The brand embraces imperfection, drawing inspiration from sketches, sculptures, and traditional pottery repair techniques.
  2. Stand Out from the Crowd. Asymmetrical designs and intentionally incomplete aesthetics create distinctive, forward-thinking eyewear.
  3. Made with Care in Japan. Hand-crafted by skilled artisans using specialized techniques.
  4. Art Everywhere. Design inspiration comes from various artistic disciplines, creating one-of-a-kind pieces.
  5. Imperfectly Perfect. Handmade characteristics add personal, distinctive qualities to each pair.

These eyeglasses function as little works of art you can wear on your face.
